Objective of the project was to analyze and make proper strategies in order to get rid of the āBig Boxesā or the industrial structures and revive the Zenne river. The territory has some significant feature with the Zenne valley with some flood forecast across the low land and the chosen site was at the junction of the potential connection between forest and water. The final strategy along with supporting interventions was to createĀ floodable parks along the predicted flooding area and create opportunities with informal structures that can serve the inhabitants with provision for informal activities.

Rise in the city is a unique international architecture competition for students and recent graduates worldwide. The challenge is to design affordable and sustainable housing solutions for Africaās growing population. The planning approach for the housing of people of Lesotho emphasizes to keep opportunities by obtaining Creating Spaces rather than Designing for the users to explore their day to day activities. Sustainable housing solutions with cost efficiency and energy efficiency from locally resourced materials were used with innovation that is aesthetically appealing with cultural relationship. The core of the proposed coordinated complex stems out of two major conceptual realizations. The āfirst realizationā calls for a restorative approach for establishing a āGreen Infrastructureā in the city. The nameĀ āShahbaghā itself stands for a historic garden that thrived until later urban development took place. A significant swath of green area lies around the site in forms of parks and university campus. The design of entire complex has thematically been conceived as an extension of āSuhrawardi Uddyanā (park), rather be told as āCanvas of Catharsisā- that lies just at the opposite eastern side of the road. Then the entire complex could be a part of a continuous āGreen Infrastructureā apparently starting from Dhaka University and stretching beyond Suhrawardi Uddyan all the way up to the Ramna Park.Ā
DESIGN OF NATIONAL MEDIA MUSEUM
Academic I Individual I 12 Weeks
Studio Teachers: Mostafizur Rahman, Mohammad Nahiyan, Shamsul Arefin
The streamline of my concept is to conceive a media museum that will bear testimony of importance of news and media chronologically with its living front canvas. It will also convey a message to the future about the past where the museum had played the role of interaction. The establishment acts as a thin barrier which carries the declaration within the city and so on. At the same time the museum is an effort to link our next generations with our past history. The museum consists of multilayeredĀ galleries of different levels with an adaptive green facade as a monolithic canvas that creates a dialogue with spectors of the city. In addition, I considered light with green adaptive skin on the front facade as the expression of the light of truth that the news and all kinds of media hold. In the inner space, the aim was to create a single circulation that will create experience the path of that relates with news and media.
